Mohit Nijhawan

Farmer and Visionary Entrepreneur

Mohit Nijhawan is an unconventional farmer and visionary entrepreneur who transitioned from a high-ranking pharmaceutical executive to the founder of Greenu, a wellness-focused agri-startup revolutionizing the way India thinks about food and health. With over 22 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors—including a leadership role as Regional Director at Sanofi Genzyme—Mohit left behind a ₹90 lakh annual salary in pursuit of a more meaningful mission: healing people naturally through food.

Motivated by personal tragedy and firsthand exposure to the health consequences of chemically treated produce, Mohit founded Embryonic Greens Pvt. Ltd., the parent company behind Greenu.

H His solution lies in microgreens—tiny, nutrient-dense plants scientifically shown to contain 4 to 40 times more vitamins and antioxidants than mature vegetables. These powerful greens not only promote wellness but have shown therapeutic benefits for managing lifestyle diseases like diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and fatty liver.

Greenu is a clean-agriculture brand that produces fresh, chemical-free microgreens using hydroponic indoor farming—offering India a science-backed, natural alternative to synthetic supplements and processed foods.

Starting from a 9 sq. ft. rooftop setup with just three trays, Mohit scaled his operation into a 500 sq. ft. vertical indoor farm, producing over 6,000 trays monthly. Today, Greenu serves individual health-conscious consumers, five-star hotels, fitness centers, and healthcare professionals, achieving a monthly turnover nearing ₹12 lakh with net profits above ₹4.8 lakh. His work has been featured in leading platforms like 30 Stades, and his scientific approach continues to gain recognition from the medical and wellness communities alike.

Beyond commercial success, Mohit is building a pan-India microgreens movement, having trained over 650 entrepreneurs and 3,500 farmers through affordable online workshops and a franchise model. He empowers everyday people—students, homemakers, professionals—to grow microgreens from home, promoting both health and livelihood.

Armed with a postgraduate diploma in Marketing & Sales from IMT Ghaziabad and further studies in health entrepreneurship from Johns Hopkins University, Mohit bridges scientific knowledge with grassroots action. At the core of his work is a simple but powerful belief: “Food can be the safest form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.” Through Greenu, he is determined to ensure it becomes the former for every Indian home.
